Amaryllis, also known as Hippeastrum, are elegant and long-lasting flowers that are easy to grow and care for. Plant the amaryllis bulb in well-draining potting soil mix, leaving the top of the bulb exposed. Use a pot with a hole in the bottom for drainage. Then place it in a bright spot at room temperature. Water the bulb sparingly until a green bud appears. Once this appears, the bulb needs more water. It takes about six to eight weeks for the Amaryllis Sweet Nymph to bloom.
